FAQs
Below are some answers to common questions about outsourcing your finance team with Savannah.
Q. How are you able to provide this solution at such a lower cost?
A. We use a back office team in South Africa to do the majority of the data processing. South Africa was our preferred choice due to minimal time zone differences, quality of talent available and English being widely spoke. Due to the low labour and overhead costs in South Africa we are able to pass on these savings to our clients.
Q. Do we need access to your finance system?
A. We can potentially work it without, but it would work more efficiently if we did. Much like any contractor you may bring under the supervision of your Finance Lead, we expect to have a similar relationship. Our service is flexible so we can work out what is most appropriate for your business.
Q. How do you ensure a quality service?
A. Initially our Managers will work closely with you to ensure we understand your requirements. Our managers will then train and support our staff to ensure we meet those requirements. Additionally we can develop reports from your system to build in certain checks of the data input. We can share these output reports with you. We would also look to set up weekly meetings with you to raise any queries we have to ensure correct posting.
Q. How does the contract with Savannah work in real terms?
A. We offer different contract models. We can offer flexible contracts ideal for clients who are looking for temporary support or short term projects. Alternatively we can offer reduced prices for clients looking for a longer term solution. Please contact our team to discuss further. We do not charge any onboarding fees.
Q. AP automation – is that not the answer rather than outsourcing?
A. From our experience there are several limitations to AP automated solutions which mean in most cases the AP function still requires a significant amount of human interaction. In addition there is a lot of work and cost required to implement the new system. Our solution sits in the middle of a fully costed UK based AP team and an automated system; a human team at a far lower cost.
Q. Is there a risk of IR35 from using Savannah?
A. We have a team of staff who can process your data rather than only using specific individuals. In the event of holidays / sick leave etc your data will still be processed (unlike staff or contractors). We also will use our own hardware. Using Savannah would reduce any current IR35 risk you may be facing by using contractors.
